The Chaska Bend
A Win For The King
Chaska, Minnesota is a small town in the Southwest Minneapolis/St. Paul metropolitan area. Being from around the area ourselves, we were thrilled to attend a Ryder Cup so close to home at the Hazeltine National Golf Club.
Normally, we have to arrive early, as the Venues are far away and we’re traveling. Not this time! ...though we did spend plenty of time in Chaska. It’s famous for its historic district on the bend of the Minnesota River. There are plenty of great places to grab a bite, a drink, a conversation, or all three, if you know where to look. If you don’t, ask the locals—they’re pretty friendly!
The Cup ran from September 30th to October 2nd, and it was unbelievable to be able to cheer on our team. From Team USA absolutely sweeping their matches in the first morning of the Cup, to Ryan Moore’s decisive match against Lee Westwood that secured the win, it was a thrilling tournament. Being so close to home made us really feel like we were cheering on the home team, and watching Team USA bring home the Cup made it an instant classic for all of us.
